island girl at heart

Inspired by childhood memories of Caribbean life, Ruth has always loved the high drama and bright colours of Bollywood movies. Her childhood celebrations were filled with gaudy silks, heat, pungent smells and the high contrasts of gold jewellery and dust. Ruth loves that intertwining of contrasts, colours, images and textures.

Ruth went to art school back in the late 1980s where she studied Graphic Communication. Ruth’s first adult painting class in 2013 reignited her love for painting. Ruth had no idea that four years later she would give up her Shiatsu practice to dedicate all of her time to art.

Looking for a way to combine her knowledge as a Shiatsu therapist with art, Ruth came across Eric Maisel's Creativity Coaching courses in 2017 and completed the Introduction and Advanced Creativity Coaching courses. In 2023 Ruth completed the Introduction to Systemic Coaching and is currently working towards ICF accreditation.
